About Us

The Friends of Merimna as a very active presence for all these years has provided a significant percentage of the total resources required for the operation of the services provided by Merimna. At the same time, they have created a strong team of volunteers and members, who work with enthusiasm and dedication to promote and support Merimna’s work.

Our vision is to continue to offer Merimna the opportunity to provide its services to as many children and families as possible who are facing a serious illness or the loss of a loved one.

Our mission is to continue to creatively and persistently search for new ideas, activities and collaborations, all with the goal of generating the best possible financial result for Merimna.

Why do we support Merimna?

The psychological support that Merimna offers to people who find themselves in the most difficult moment of their lives,
is significant and irrefutable. We find, that the immense difficulty surrounding the subject of children and death, in the hands of specialists,
can become a strength and help them to deal with the pain of their mourning or illness, and not just leave the trauma to influence their lives.
We have undertaken with great responsibility and consistency, all these years, the support of the work of Merimna. The non-profit organization does not
receive state or European grants.

How we support Merimna

A. Financial Aid

We offer financial support to Merimna. Our revenue comes from:

• From donations of sensitized citizens and companies
• From the subscriptions of the members of the association
• From the proceeds of charitable events and activities organized in Athens and
Thessaloniki with the tireless participation of Friends of Merimna’s members and
volunteers.
• From the continuous support provided by the association Together for the Child.
As a result, we are enduring consistent supporters, through donations, of Merimna and cover a significant part of its annual operating expenses.
